Purpose and site credits

Time Out for Unity is a place where people can come to step back from confrontational rhetoric and view issues from a perspective of common concerns and standards which hold the greatest good for all. The purpose of this website is not to present a balance of opposing views but to get to the underlying principles that most of us can agree upon.

It's a place to recommend to anyone in your network of relationships including those who may not share your political views, but who would resonate with an examination of issues and values without jargon or political buzzwords.

The site offers samples of compelling true stories and information - not as a primary news source - but to illustrate the perspective of what many hold as common concerns and standards of ethical behavior. Though the site includes stories, it also serves to link the reader to more sources of information and to venues of personal and community involvement where they can act to preserve our remaining resources, human, natural, economic and civic, before any more of them run out, or are run into the ground.

The site also functions as an educational resource to support people as they shape their responses to events, by identifying the standards for evaluating what is behind the news of the day and focusing on the dangers, opportunities and places to take a constructive and creative stand. - D.
